What happens during my first consultation?

When you arrive for your first visit at our office in San Francisco, CA, you will be greeted by our friendly office staff who will ensure that the proper registration information is collected for your treatment. Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral slip from your dentist and any X-rays, if applicable
  • A list of medications you are presently taking
  • Medical or dental insurance cards and the necessary completed forms, if applicable — this will save time and allow us to help you process any claims
  • A driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID, to protect against identity theft

To make the registration process run as smoothly as possible, you can download and complete the patient registration form before your initial consultation on our website.

During your first appointment, Dr. Rayher will perform a thorough examination, explaining your diagnosis and outlining his recommended treatment options. Dr. Rayher will help you determine the treatment plan that you feel comfortable with and choose the best option for anesthesia or sedation during the procedure. In some circumstances, surgery can be done the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

It is required that a parent or guardian accompany you to the consultation visit if you are under 18 years of age.
